Angelo Gordon Celebrates National Intern Day
July 28, 2022
On National Intern Day, Angelo Gordon is proud to recognize our 25 outstanding interns who joined 15 of our teams across the firm this summer.
This year, Angelo Gordon’s diverse intern class hailed from 23 different universities, including both undergraduate and graduate programs, joining investment, client partnership and operations teams in various capacities to learn more about alternative investment management.
Our internship program seeks to provide a hands-on experience that is both unique and rewarding for students. Interns are given the opportunity to develop invaluable skills by working side-by-side with our investment professionals. “From the start, I’ve been able to dive into real deal work (no made-up intern projects!) and get to know the team in and out of the office,” said Distressed team intern, Lauren Pansegrau. “I’ve learned so much from my deal teams by iterating on investment opportunities we’re evaluating, and from [Distressed & Special Situations Head] Ryan [Mollett] and the broader group through hearing how they think about this market and each individual deal at every investment committee and portfolio review.”
Interns are exposed to a variety of investment strategies and operational functions during their time at AG, allowing them to gain a solid grounding in the industry at as they begin their careers. Operations team intern Emmanuel Abeye shared: “By getting exposed to these different credit and real estate investments as well as hedge fund strategies, I have become well rounded and better suited to tackle different career paths in finances from hedge funds to private equity and even investment banking.”
Our interns have also become active members of our community and vibrant team culture throughout their summer. “Since I got to the firm, I have had the opportunity to speak with numerous professionals throughout Angelo Gordon. I am so thankful for all the individuals that have taken the time out of their busy days to talk to me about their careers, give advice and learn more about my interests,” said Roopanshi Rampal, an intern in AG’s Leveraged Loans group. “Everyone is always willing to sit down and explain everything coherently to me, no matter when I ask. The pitch that I have been working on has been really challenging but I am grateful that everyone has been there to help each step of the way.”
We are proud of the well-rounded internship program we offer students and thank all this year’s interns for their valuable contributions to Angelo Gordon. And we are grateful to our diversity recruitment partners, including Girls Who Invest, The Posse Foundation, SEO and 10,000 Black Interns, for helping us to expand access to the program to candidates from a broad range of backgrounds every year.
